13/01/2013 - New install script! Read the installation instructions for details.
11/01/2013 - New banner. Fix for wrong low battery icons, missing "edit" icon for Maya calendar app and addition of an elementary OS "distributor" icon, for Switchboard's "About" plug. Changed naming structure - now named Faience-Moon-Blue and Faience-Moon-Cheese.
17/12/2012 - Faenza dependence removed. Fix for critical bug of some icons not appearing on Switchboard and wrong icons for wi-fi secure networks. Open up a Terminal window (Search for it in the "Apps" menu, or press "Ctrl+Alt+T"), type the following command on it and press Enter key: __________________________________________________________________
Comes in 2 versions: Blue (blue folder icons) and Cheese (default Faience folder icons).
Extracted the downloaded folder, open it and click on "install.sh". To remove the icon theme, click on "remove.sh".
Note that it installs the icons on your home folder, so applications running as root will not be able to use them and will default to GNOME theme. Future versions may include an fix. Meanwhile, if you want to use the icon theme as root, you should copy the "theme" folder to /usr/share/icons and rename it to Faience-Moon-Blue (or Faience-Moon-Cheese if you've choosen it). __________________________________________________________________
This is a custom version of Faience icon theme by ~tiheum. All the credits to the original icons go to him.
Geeeeeeeeeeeez. I'm suspecting it's a permission problem. But first, let me ask you: can you check if the folders were actually created? You can reveal your hidden folders (those with an "." at the start) by pressing Ctrl + H. There should be an ".icon" directory in your home folder, and the icon theme folder should be inside it. If there's not an ".icon" folder in your home directory, then you should edit the install script and switch add an "-p" after mkdir.
But really, I should tag this theme as Beta or something before people can properly use it. Sorry for the inconveniences and thank you for reporting the problems!
hmm, could you please edit "install.sh" and change "mkdir" to "mkdir -p" and then try to run it again to see if it works? if that's the problem, I'm going to upload a new version fixing that soon.
What "desprosal" said is the case, using the instructions you posted, the icons turn into the fallback gnome-icon theme.
I made a temporary solution by making a backup and then overwriting the 'elementary' folder in /usr/share/icons with the folders in the 'Faenza-Moon-Blue' (Without copying the 'status' folder) . It works fine that way, but definitely doesn't seem like the proper way to apply it
That's really odd, because I can use it normally here that way. Maybe it's something with file permissions, I had this problem with some Icon theme once. I'm working on a installation script, and I'm gonna set all the file persmissions to 777 before I upload to see if it prevents any problems. It should be uploaded in an hour our two.
Thanks for trying the icon theme out thought and letting me know of the issues. Sorry for the inconveniences!
